40in x 40in x .5in
Materials: Baby blanket, lace, and thread.
The baby blanket is a virginal symbol of purity, with a small island of lace labia in the center. The piece is benign at first sight, masking an age-old saying that is used to refer to female sexual conquests as being another “notch” in a man’s belt. This “notch” is represented by the small white lace strip in the exterior edge of the piece, which signifies a piece that has been changed or removed from the previously whole ring.
